Steve Clark is a member of the American Matthay Association, the American Liszt Society and serves on the editorial board of the Piano Pedagogy Forum. He appears frequently in recital and students from his studio have been declared winners and finalists in state, national and international piano competitions. He is a nationally recognized clinician in the field of music technology and serves the Georgia Music Teachers Association as chair of the Committee on Technology. He has been Vice-President of MTNA Fall Performance Competitions for the Georgia Music Teachers Association, National   Coordinator of MTNA Junior High School Performance Competitions and is currently serving as the National Chair of Student Competitions for the Music Teachers National Association.  Mr. Clark is a member of the music faculty at the Schwob Department of Music at Columbus State University where he teaches Piano, Piano Pedagogy and Music Technology.

 

John B. O'Brien has collaborated with such artists as Metropolitan Opera mezzosoprano Hilda Harris, violinist Eliot Chapo, tenor Bill Brown and flautist Carol Wincenc of the Julliard School. He has performed in New York's Merkin Recital Hall and at the Istanbul Festival. His frequent guest appearances have included recitals and master classes at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Florida State University, Columbus State University and the Southeastern Music Festival. From 1984-1992, O'Brien served as the official accompanist for the finals of the Music Teachers National Association National Competition. He received the BM and MM degrees in Piano Performance and DMA in Accompanying from the University of Southern California, where he studied with John Perry, Gwendolyn Koldofsky and Jean Barr. He has studied harpsichord with Elaine Funar and Malcolm Hamilton and is a member of the Southeast Historic Keyboard Society. O'Brien is presently Associate Professor of Accompanying and Chairperson of the Department of Vocal Studies at East Carolina University. He is the Music Director of the ECU Opera program and conductor of the Eastern Youth Orchestra.

John T. O'Brien has recently retired from Columbus State University where he served as director of the Graduate and Undergraduate degree programs in Piano Pedagogy. In 1979, he developed one of the first undergraduate programs in piano pedagogy in the country at Goshen College. Previously, he was director of teacher training at the New School for Music Study in Princeton, New Jersey and served as a consultant to the "Frances Clark Library for Piano Students" for a period of over twenty years. He earned his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Baylor University, and did advanced study at the Academy for Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna, Austria. Mr. O'Brien is nationally known as a lecturer and director of workshops for piano teachers.

 

Virginia Poor received her BA degree in Sacred Music from Bob Jones University and her MM degree in Piano Pedagogy from Columbus State University. In addition to her 26 years experience as a private piano teacher, Mrs. Poor has taught English, school music and chorus in the public schools. She is currently teaching piano through the Conservatory Division of the Schwob Department of Music at Columbus State University. For five years she served as "proofreader" for The Herald Press.
